ree

Experience is everything. You can teach yourself almost anything, but it’s the hands-on learning with a true master that stays with you forever. If culinary school isn’t in the cards, consider taking a few classes on your own time—you’ll still gain the skills and insight that a formal education provides.

Fresh herbs make all the difference in a dish. Challenge your green thumb with a herb garden.

Cooking Journal

ree

I bring a small journal everywhere I go. If I have a dish that I want to recreate I will casually take it out after dinner and write down everything I can about the dish. If I'm on a flight and have an idea for a dish I write it down. If I make something out of the blue and love it, I’ll write down what I did to remember and R&D for later.
