I have always loved the children’s story “The Secret Garden” and decided that this summer, I would create my own little secret garden to enjoy. I spent countless hours cleaning up the back of my cottage after the harsh coastal winter, planting an assortment of flowers and shrubs, creating a makeshift water feature, and buying a dining table and chairs from Facebook Marketplace. I also added some dreamy string lights. It has become the perfect little space for morning coffee and breakfast as well as intimate dinners with chilled white wine flowing.
